About Progeos
Progeos is a new Connecticut company formed in 2008 to deliver web-based GIS (Geographic Information Systems) enchanced municipal software and related management services to towns and communities at significant cost savings.
Progeos expanded its services in 2009 to provide online mapping software and tools for college, university, and community map collections.
Progeos represents the first web based systems for supporting college and university library mapping applications, for both on- and off- campus users.
Progeos helped launch the initial online viewer for the Map and Geographic Information Center (MAGIC) at the University of Connecticut's Homer Babbidge Library in less than five days, after MAGIC had struggled with several other software implemenatations over the course of a few years.
The system is built on a high performance platform and fully integrates geospatial data across several mediums.
Users pay a monthly fee based on the size of the collection and the desired services. Students, faculty, staff, and community members are provided convenient access to maps and data regardless
of GIS experience, operating system, or internet software.
Progeos provides webinars, tip sheets, video downloads and web based training to support users at all levels of
expertise.
We welcome the opportunity to tell you more about Progeos or to address your
audience about how web based GIS services can improve and expand access to map libraries.
